Cactus Vela has a voice that sounds whiskey soaked with bristles full of grizzle and passion, sharing lyrics of a life lived on the edge that survived to tell the tale. Paired with a guitar style of his own,Cactus brings his fortitude and grit to the Acoustic-Punk genre. He has been part of the Toronto Punk scene performing and touring for three decades, with such bands as Sinkin’ Ships, Plan 37, Whiskey Hearts, The Class Assassins and The Dogs, who won a Toronto Independent Music Award in 2005.
